The Codan 2110 HF Manpack Receives JITC Certification

Codan Limited has been given certification for the 2110 HF manpack transceiver from the Joint Interoperability Test Command.

It certifies that the 2110 manpack conforms to the Automatic Link Establishment requirement of MIL-STD-188-141B, and also the Interoperability and Performance Standards for Medium and HF Radio Equipment.

With the JITC certification, Codan can begin to work together with other HF radio brands to establish a common waveform for Automatic Link Establishment operation. In PFP and coalition operations, this is vital for becoming more prepared for emergency situations and providing disaster relief as it extends their HF networks.

“JITC certification is a major differentiator for Codan HF radios and we are pleased to support the MIL-STD-188-141B in both our NGT and 2110-based systems,” said Andrew W. Sheppard, vice president and general manager, Codan US, Inc.

“Codan is committed to supporting the need for critical interoperability between coalition and Partnership-for-Peace countries and expansion of these requirements within Central Asia, the Middle East and developing world countries.”

ALE operates by choosing the best frequency within minutes of a call being made by a radio operator. It then alerts the operators on both ends of the line that they are able to communicate. This removes repetitive calling at a pre-determined schedule and having to monitor HF radio static.
