The Sentry-H is the military industry’s first dedicated base and mobile radio system that delivers 150 W of RF power without the added cost, weight and complexity typically found with multirole Manpack radio design. The Sentry-H has an in-built power amplifier that provides full-duty cycle performance across the complete HF band for all supported modes. Designed for maximum efficiency and a wide range of DC input voltages, the Sentry-H is the HF radio of choice for vehicle and base installations.
Affordable and Intuitive Tactical Communications
At Codan we understand it’s tough today to afford a tactical High Frequency (HF) radio system that has all the features you desire, without compromising on essentials like durability and security. That’s why we’ve created the Codan Sentry-H Software-Defined Radio (SDR) with next generation Digital Voice, 3G ALE and Frequency Hopping. It’s the most robust and intuitive high-power SDR radio we’ve ever built for voice and data communications.

High Power
With a massive 150 W in a single compact RF unit, we've eliminated the complication of an external amplifier. Sentry-H is easy and fast to install in base and mobile configurations so you can hit the ground running.

3G ALE
High Power — without the Amplifier
We’ve eliminated the need for an external power amplifier, often required in competitor systems, and we’ve engineered the Codan Sentry to provide 150 W of power so that you get the best and most
reliable communications. Whether your configuring a base or mobile system, Codan’s compact and highly integrated unit with robust handset makes installation fast and without the fuss.

Mobile System
The Sentry-H is quick and easy to install in a vehicle, with a space-saving design that enables you to conveniently mount the handset and RF unit separately.

Base System
The ruggedised and versatile design of Sentry-H’s RF units makes installation into permanent and temporary bases simple, and it operates from wide ranging DC and AC power sources. A Codan Sentry-H base configuration delivers reliable and powerful communications over vast distances, with standard power output 150 W and expandable up to 1000 W.

150W High Power
When competitor systems try to deliver high-power, they typically add more kit and cabling. With Sentry-H we deliver 150 W power for voice and data, and at the same time we have completely eliminated the need for an external power amplifier making installation lightning fast and without fuss.

Smart Handset Control
The Sentry-H solves the challenge of installing typically bulky front panel control Manpack form factor radios with the innovative 2230 Smart Handset. The intuitive icon-based menu system and easy to read layout, coupled with an ability to switch between multiple native languages (including data entry modes) ensures that you can focus more on your mission and less on complex radio operations and training.

Secure Voice & Data
Sentry’s leading edge digital voice technology and high speed MIL/STANAG data waveforms coupled with AES-256 encryption provide superior and secure voice quality and data throughput even in the most challenging channel conditions. The innovative secure interoperability capability ensures that Sentry-H systems can be configured to operate seamlessly across HF networks using disparate encryption methods, a crucial capability in complex missions. Data application suites such as Codan Sprint and Codan Chat provide peer to peer text chat, email, and file transfer as well as email and phone SMS gateways, ensuring your mission data requirements can be fully met.

3G ALE
Sentry-H can now be upgraded with advanced 3G ALE providing faster linking and more flexible data capabilities than with existing 2G solutions. When coupled with Codan’s easy to use Sprint data applications, 3G ALE enabled networks can support secure peer-to-peer email, file transfer, and chat data, communications and email and phone SMS gateway services.

MIL-Spec
Sentry-H and the 3320 Sentry power supply are both designed and tested to the toughest Military standards and inherit the time proven quality and reliability of Codan’s 50 plus years designing HF products for the world’s toughest environments. You can rely on the Sentry product to not let you down when you need it most.

Software Defined
Sentry-H uses the latest-generation high-performance Digital Signal Processor (DSP), Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and system on chip (SoC) technology. Built upon a proven SDR platform with thousands of hours of operation in the field, Sentry-H delivers market leading performance and future upgradability through software updates.

Frequency Hopping
Sentry-H can be enabled with Frequency Hopping capability that can help prevent third party monitoring of communications that may jeopardise an operation. Frequency Hopping supports up to 31 user programmable hop plans and can be combined with voice encryption to provide a high level of ECCM and communications security.

Language Support
With the ability to support an unlimited number of additional languages, Sentry-H provides you with a truly customizable communications solution that speaks your language. Sentry-H supports English, Spanish, French, Russian, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Portuguese and Chinese.

Sentry-H Base Station Solution
A typical Sentry-H base station solution consists of a Sentry-H RF Unit, Smart handset, power supply, tactical broadband HF antenna and cables. A Codan Sentry base configuration delivers reliable and powerful secure voice and data communications with standard power output of 150W that can increased to 500W or 1000W with external amplifier. The ruggedised Sentry-H RF unit’s compact and innovative design simplifies deployment, operating directly from a wide range of DC supply voltages or AC mains when stacked with the Sentry 3320 Power Supply. The Sentry-H base system can be supplied with a range of tuned and broadband antennas designed to suit different installation constraints and communications requirements to ensure optimum performance is delivered.

Sentry-H Mobile Solution
A typical Sentry-H mobile station solution consists of a Sentry-H RF Unit, Smart handset, and a high performance tuned antenna solution to provide full HF band secure voice and data communications on the move. The compact design of the Sentry-H RFU and remote handset ensure flexibility of installation location within typical space constrained military vehicles.

3320 Power Supply
The Sentry 3320 Power Supply is a compact but fully ruggedized and waterproof AC mains power supply designed to deliver reliable DC power to the Sentry-H transceiver in base station deployments and in all conditions.

Cradle mounts
Both the Sentry-H transceiver and 3320 Power Supply are supported with a low profile, quick fit/release mounting cradle that is designed and tested to meet MIL standards. The 2230 Handset can be provided with a mounting cradle with the convenience of being fully compatible with off the shelf RAMTM mounting accessories.

Shock Mount
The Sentry shock mount is used to provide additional protection for the Sentry-H transceiver or 3320 Power Supply when installed in high vibration environments as often found in mechanised deployments.

High Power
The Codan 3061 500W or 3062 1000W booster power amplifiers are fully integrated with the 150W Sentry-H transceiver to provide the performance necessary for strategic long haul voice and data communications.

H-250 audio accessories
A comprehensive range of H-250 compatible audio accessories are available for the Sentry-H transceiver, including, Handsets, headsets and ruggedized remote speakers.
