Coordinated Communications

Whether you're tracking an asset or responding to a disaster the Vizor repeater ensures safe, interoperable and coordinated communications between you and your agencies. Its proven platform delivers the same features you’d expect from a site-based product such as P25 compliance, full encryption, crossband capability, and low RF performance.

Vehicular repeater solution

A Vizor can be located in a vehicle and used in conjunction with a mobile radio to effectively expand the range of a portable radio in the field. To illustrate this concept, an officer leaves his vehicle and begins transmitting on his portable radio. The 3–5 Watt portable radio signal is boosted through the vehicular repeater, thus enabling transmission at much greater distances.

Base station solution

Vizor can be configured as a base station radio system to communicate between a dispatch/command centre and mobiles or portable-equipped radio users in the field. Base stations typically need to communicate on multiple channels and frequently, the Vizor itself can be physically located at a remote location so as to provide better radio coverage.

In-Building Coverage

A Vizor can be quickly deployed on the sidewalk, in the lobby or on various floors of a building to provide in building communications and ensure first responders have communications as they respond to the in-building emergency.

Communications in no coverage areas

In these areas of little or no radio coverage, a Vizor can be very beneficial in bringing the coverage strengths found in a normally fixed piece of infrastructure equipment to the scene of operations. By providing the users on-scene with a Vizor, the communications between those first responders on-scene can be very effective and remain intact for the duration of the operation.

Temporary communications during emergencies

A Vizor can be quickly deployed to temporarily enhance radio communications for first responders where coverage in the area is poor. They can be linked into the existing networks, or work as stand alone units. Combined with an antenna and mast an entire radio site can be quickly deployed by vehicle or helicopter to a hilltop or other location to provide communications coverage during the emergency.
